How does Strong Identity work?
Iden.tt makes it easy for you to be strong on the Internet. It takes just a few minutes to signup and start using your Strong Identity. Here's how:
- Signup for an Iden.tt Account
- On a trusted computer click the Signup button, then choose a unique Account ID and pick a password.
- Authorize the download of our Iden.tt Manager software. When the download is done, the Iden.tt Manager creates a certificate on your computer. Learn more.
- You can then configure and customize your Iden.tt Account.
- Login to OpenID websites
- Navigate to the website's OpenID login page and enter your Iden.tt OpenID - "iden.tt/" followed by your Account ID.
- Your Iden.tt Manager will popup a window asking you authenticate yourself if required and to approve the login.
- You will then be logged into the website.
- Login to CardSpace websites
- Windows CardSpace or another identity selector must be installed on your computer.
- Download Iden.tt InfoCards to your computer from here.
- Navigate to the website's CardSpace login page and click the InfoCard login button.
- When CardSpace pops up, select your Iden.tt InfoCard to login.
- Use your Strong Identity on another trusted computer
- On an existing trusted computer, print an Iden.tt Code Card from here.
- On the new computer:
- Download and install the Iden.tt Manager from here.
- Signon to your Iden.tt Account using your password and an unused code from your Iden.tt Code Card.
- Go to the credentials page and create an Iden.tt Certificate for the new computer.
- Use your Strong Identity on the road
- On an existing trusted computer, print an Iden.tt Code Card from here.
- To login to an OpenID website:
- Signon to your Iden.tt Account using your password and an unused code from your Iden.tt Code Card.
- Navigate to the website's OpenID login page and enter your Iden.tt OpenID.
- To login to a CardSpace website:
- Download a generic roaming Iden.tt InfoCard here.
- Use this InfoCard to login with your password and an unused code from your Iden.tt Code Card.
